this is a record of a series of improvisations performed by sam jones and wyatt penn keusch over the span of four weeks during the summer of 2009. the original performances, recorded live in different locations around los angeles, have been edited to varying degrees, in order to enhance the listening experience while both the original intentions of the pieces and the feeling of spontaneity inherent to freely improvised music. in addition to the consciously created sounds and textures, many of the sonic byproducts of live performance (i.e. the clicking of effects pedals or the unplugging of patch cables) have been intentionally left in the mixes so as to remind the listener of the very "liveness" of the music.
